Administration and Finance of the East India Company
This was Ambedkar's M.A. thesis at Columbia University in New York. It explains how the British East India Company was run and how it raised and spent money while it ruled parts of India. It stayed unpublished until the Government of Maharashtra printed it in BAWS Vol. 6 (1989).
Why it matters: It is his first long piece of academic research and shows his early interest in how money and government shape the lives of ordinary Indians.
